Hands-on Internet Training Director-Elect Sam has received several requests to consider providing hands-on Internet training at the San Diego Institute. On Saturday afternoon as part of the Institute programs, we plan to provide a short demonstration on access to Rotary related information on the Internet. In addition, for those participants who wish to receive a one hour session for hands-on instruction regarding accessing and surfing the Internet, arrangements have been made for this as well. The training will take place on Monday morning and will not conflict with any Institute activities. (GETS participants will be involved with their own closing session and will not be able to participate.) We have arranged for a short bus ride to a classroom that will have interactive stations for the training. The training will have an emphasis on using the Internet to access Rotary information but training on more general topics will be provided as well. We plan to have the first hour class start at 9:00 AM with additional classes to run on the hour to the extent of interest. There will be 10 to 15 students per class-each working on their own computer on line to the Internet. The cost per participant will be $25 non-refundable. If you are interested please send your registration fee with the form below. Any questions should be addressed to Steve Brown who can be reached from July 1- to August 11 at (509) 447-3856; thereafter, at (619) 699-2449. The registration deadline is August 16. Registrations will be processed in the order received with the first sign-ups assigned to the 9:00 AM sessions. _______________________________________________________ Name of computer trainee(s)____________________________ ____________________________ Make check payable to "1999 Rotary Institute".
